Look who’s talking…

I always liked Kathy Griffin. I used to think she was not just a woman doing the “bitchy gay guy” kind of humor. I mean, she is. But she is also smart and thinks fast. Which is very different from other female comedians like Chelsea Handler and Sarah Silverman - who are not particularly smart, or fast. They just say the kind of stuff you hear from the mouth of any bitchy gay man at any gay bar you go. 

Anyway, I used to like Kathy Griffin a lot. But I think she is really full of crap sometimes. Maybe she does that kind of shit because no one has given her a hard time:

I was watching her talking about the Golden Globe’s 2012 and she, as everybody else, talked about Madonna (the star of the night). She was also oblivious (apparently) about the Elton [pig] John incident at that time, but she said “Madonna is more British than ever”, emphasizing “more British than EVER”.

I thought, “bitch, you’re from Chicago”. In fact, she’s from Oak Park, Illinois. Kathy Griffin’s speech pattern could not be more different from Chicago’s speech pattern if she tried. She has a completely different accent from her very own mother (who was a highlight on Kathy’s TV show) and everybody I know who’s lived their entire lives in Chicago.

Is everybody dumb? No one has got “critical thinking”? I mean, if I were the [Entertainment Tonight] reporter talking to Kathy Griffin, I would have asked her right away: “Speaking of Madonna, what about your accent? Why don’t you have a Chicago accent?”

Just like Madonna, Kathy Griffin was born in the mid-west and now, she too has a very different accent from her origins. And note: I am saying “Chicago accent” because it’s not really the same as what people call “Midwestern” accent. 

I tried to find the video in which Kathy Lee Gifford Griffin comments on Madonna’s accent at the Golden Globe’s but I could not find it. But I found something else, an older video from a stand up comedy show in which she says the same thing about Madonna (“she is more British than ever”). I mean, Kathy Griffin now resorts to re-telling old jokes? No wonder why she’s not on TV anymore.

By the way, I had to strikethrough the part I said she was smart: gurrl clearly didn’t know (she didn’t even bother to do some research before her comedy show) that Malawi was under the rule of the British until 1964 (year they became independent from the United Kingdom). And yes, Kathy, alongside Chichewa, English is their official language. Hence the name David. You guys will understand what I am talking about after watching this:

[Isn’t that a shame that everybody laughed because they did not know Malawi had been part of the British empire and has English as one of its official languages?]

On another note, I have never seen Kathy Griffin making jokes on Lady Jester - being the easy target for jokes that she is and everything. If Kathy has joked about Lady CopyCaCat before, maybe you guys can show it to me. However, I have seen her talking proudly about having Lady Caca’s parents attending her stand-up show in NYC. Talk about being biased…
