NY Daily News calls “Born This Way” a rip-off

NY Daily News calls Born This Way a rip-off of Madonna’s Express Yourself. But on the same article, they show us all that the American press still is ageist and sexist.

Had Lady Gaga admitted her song was heavily influenced by Madonna, or that it was an homage, no one would be talking about it. Still, the singer decided to state that Whitney Houston was the inspiration for it. Go figure.

Since Madonna started rehearsing for her MDNA Tour, several possible set-lists have popped up on the web. People have been saying Madonna is singing parts of Born This Way for months, but the rumors have finally hit the mainstream media:

The NY Daily News also revealed that the MDNA Tour “has been a sellout”.

However, keeping up with the tradition the press has had of belittling everything Madonna-related (even when there’s no reason to report anything negative), they did mention MDNA didn’t produce any radio hit. Ha!

My question is: When did a classic rock act (like Madonna) last produce a radio hit?

I don’t see anyone reporting that the Rolling Stones, or Bruce Springsteen, or Lionel Richie, or Prince, or Michael Jackson failed to produce radio hits when their latest albums came out. But they did mention Madonna’s did. And that is confusing. MDNA produced a top 10 hit.

In fact, Give Me All Your Luvin’ became Madonna’s 38th top 10 hit (she has more than anybody else). The album also debuted at the #1 position in 37 countries (including the US and UK). It also was #1 in the iTunes stores of 51 countries. Also, it is the highest debut album in the US and in the global market this year so far.

So, yeah, Michael Jackson didn’t produce a single hit even when his posthumous album came out. Prince, Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, they didn’t produce any hit when their last albums came out either. So why does the media report Madonna didn’t produce any hit single, even though she had a top 10 hit off of this album and two #1 massive dance hits?

If you don’t understand what this means, you are a waste of space in this world.
