downatella asked:
Madonna cancelled the AUS leg of her tour whilst Gaga just did 5 consecutive sold out shows in Melbourne and ended up performing for 200,000 Australians in one month. :')
I said it before and I’ll say it again: I love it how you little morons dig yourselves a deeper hole:
“Madonna cancelled the AUS leg of her tour”?
In what year? For sure, it wasn’t this year.
You know, there never was any Australian dates for the MDNA Tour.
So how did Madonna cancel dates that never existed?
Please, explain it to me, little moron… Try to find anywhere dates for the MDNA Tour in Australia.
Oh, you can’t?
Why not?
Oh, I know. You can’t because they never existed.
Australian dates for the MDNA Tour have never been announced. There never was an official word on the tour going to Australia.
So let me ask you again: how did Madonna “canceled” dates that never existed?
There were, in fact, rumors of an Australian leg. But a rumor does not mean it is true, right? You know that, right? That’s the very meaning of “rumor”. There were also rumors that Madonna would perform in Japan and in South Africa. Does that mean she canceled those dates that never existed too?
You know what a rumor is, right?
Thanks for letting us know that Lady Reductive performed in Australia. Thanks for acknowledging that she has performed a lot more concerts with her Flop This Way Ball than Madonna and her MDNA Tour. That means you are aware that Madonna’s tour is more successful than Gaga’s even though it started a month later and it has less dates and shows performed.
This knowledge must hurt, right, little morons?
The Australian media is saying two stadiums were actually booked for MDNA to go to Australia. True tickets had not been announced. Either way it’s devastating and Australian fans are wondering why she cares so little about us when she’s been so successful here since the beginning.
Oh, okay, so now whatever the press says it’s true?
The Australian media said two stadiums were booked. NOT THE TOUR PROMOTERS. This is not difficult to understand. There was no official announcement of Madonna going to Australia, just word of mouth.
And since when whatever the media says it’s true?
You know, the American media in 1985 said Madonna would be out of the business in the following six months and that Cyndi Lauper would stick around longer. That was the absolute truth too, right?
Oh, the media… they know everything!
When it comes to celebrities, the media spread more rumors than actual facts.
In my opinion:
I honestly think Madonna doesn’t go to Australia more because of local promoters than because of her decision. I doubt she would not want to add three-to-five stadium concerts there at the end of her tour.
Her crew could take a week (or two) off after the last shows in South America, then go perform a few nights in stadiums there. This is not a difficult thing to do.
So the problem MUST be other than Madonna’s camp. I don’t think she would decide not to make some millions so easily. Not the same with promoters - the ones that have to cover up the expenses.
Comments:
I received some very interesting and balanced comments that deserved to be highlighted:
From Lola: “I’m always amazed at people’s feelings of entitlement. I, too, am a Madonna fan but in no way would I ever act the way you do. It’s down to the artist when they tour, where they tour, what songs they play etc … and I think that should be honored and respected. I cannot stand all this entitlement that seems to have grown rapidly, in the last decade or so. Such brattish behaviour.”
From Milo: “Madonna has never (EVER) come to my country, yet I understand the reasons, I still admire her, and I wish her nothing but a massive success with her tour in other countries.”
From D3: “Some people can be such drama queens. If you are disappointed about the MDNA tour not coming to Australia then it is your own doing. I live in Sydney and I would love to see Madonna next year. I saw her in 1993. However, there are many factors in bringing a show to any city. It does not rely on Madonna’s choice alone. It is a business arrangement with the local promoter. Grow up whingers. You are behaving worse than little mons-turds.”
You guys rock.
And for those who are still whining about it:
