Did you guys see Lady Gaga’s latest “invention”? Her hand-made fiber optic wig?
I love it how she is calls it an “invention”. I also love it how she talks in a Madonna-esque mixed accent.
In the video, titled “An ARTPOP Invention”, Lady Gaga says:
“I wanted to show you one of the newest inventions from the Haus of Gaga. This is a handmade wig by Frederic Aspiras, and it was an innovation that myself, and Tara and Freddi came up with, with our friend Chris, and we’ve been working on it for over six months. We are going to light it up for you to see, it’s the first…”
—- The video abruptly cuts at “this is the first…” and jumps to Gaga saying she’s turning the lights off to show us what she [the wig] can do.
I wonder if she was about to say something like “this is the first fiber optic wig”. First, well, it is not.
In fact, hers is not even the first wig that lights up. So how can she say she “came up with” this idea, if anyone can buy fiber optic wigs on the web?

Lady Gaga and her “haus” surely are a group of very prolific plagiarists. They are always “inventing” stuff (don’t forget that, at first, Lady Gaga also said that her “bubble dress” was their invention too).
This video is so full of megalomania, that even the fact that the wig is handmade is used as a “status” factor by Lady G. Newsflash: all good wigs are handmade. I would expect a singer who’s been wearing a wig most of her career to be wearing good ones. Telling us that her wig was “handmade” is sort of an oxymoron.
The highlight of it all is when she calls her fiber optic wig an “invention” [correction:] an “ARTPOP invention”. She even had the nerve to say it’s an “innovation” she took part of, she “came up with” the idea.

So, unlike what Lady Gaga said, she did not invent anything, she did not innovate anything, she didn’t come up with any idea:
The only idea she came up with was to copy the creations of other people. Manufacturing her own fiber optic wig, just like the ones anyone can buy on the Internet is the same as seeing a dress at a window and, instead of buying it, ordering a seamstress to make a knock-off.
Is Lady Gaga truly that delusional or is she a pathological liar?

Besides that, it is very ignorant of you to suggest I would be calling her “reductive” with no evidence and/or in-depth explanation for it. Even low life little morons cannot say otherwise — even if they blindly decide to keep being followers of a serial plagiarist like Lady G.
Not to mention that many people are supporting Pussy Riot. I mentioned their names. No one is copying anyone while supporting the same cause. Different people can support the same causes and talk about the same issues in different ways.
If Lady Gaga tattooed “Free Pussy Riot” in her body or wore a balaclava while doing it, I would definitely call it a rip-off acte de résistance. But that is not the only way of showing support. Lady G could find other ways, but she didn’t even mention it on twitter.
If supporting a cause and being vocal about it were enough to make me brand her “reductive” or “copycat”, I would be doing the same for her support for the gay cause and equality - Madonna has been doing it since the 80s. The only thing I have to say about Lady G supporting the gay cause is that she does it at a time that it is basically required from a popstar. They all do it now. It’s cool to do it. Madonna did it when it wasn’t cool. Madonna did it when it was bad to associate oneself with the gay community. So bad that even gay men such as Elton John and George Michael hid in the closet. In fact, like I stated before, Elton John even got married to a woman to avoid any public association with the gays in order to save his career.
So no, I don’t want to have it both ways, and I would not brand her “reductive” for joining a good cause and fighting the good fight. However, I would (and I do) analyze and assess the kind of involvement she has with any movement, and how she does it. And right now, not doing anything for Pussy Riot means she only cares about issues that will not hurt her public image and that end up increasing her bank account.

The “biggest star” in the world (LOL) promoted the “album of the decade” relentlessly in the biggest markets around the world, still, she only managed to sell 66,25% off of the 8 million albums shipped worldwide (the album sold only 5,3 million units - do the math).
On the other hand, Adele sold over 15 million units worldwide - and she did less than 1/3 of the promotion Gaga did. That is what I am talking about: artistic death, “lauperland”. Meaning: just like Cyndi Lauper, Gaga will still be around making music, but being as irrelevant as it should be.
